Columbus Down Sleeping Bag

Kathmandu offer bags in the following sizes:
  Mummy Semi-Rectangular Rectangular
Regular 70cm x 206cm 72cm x 211cm< 76cm x 211cm
Large 72cm x 220cm 74cm x 225cm 78cm x 225cm
Mummy

Mummy bags, with their wider cut shoulders and narrow feet are the most efficient when it comes to weight and warmth. These bags conform more closely to your shape and only require minimal body heat to warm up. They encase you ‘like a mummy’ and may be restrictive and less roomy than other bags.

Semi-Rectangular

Semi-Rectangular bags with their tapered foot (more room than the Mummy) and contoured hood are a good compromise. These bags provide ample sleeping space at the torso for comfort.

Rectangular

Rectangular types offer more space and are cooler than others, letting you move easily within the bag. Because of the larger top opening, heat can escape more easily.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not warm enough unfortunately I bought this sleeping bag last year, for camping in NZ. It seems even worse this year than last year as I had to add arctic socks on top of my 1 base layer merino singlet, then a long sleeve thermal and a hunting and fishing jumper overtop. All just to be comfortable through the night. I will buy a new bag but probably not from here this time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not so good kathmandu I took this sleeping bag on the overland track in feb. Its supposed to be rated to -3degrees. However i had to sleep with thermal underwear, socks a silk slip sheet liner, and a thermal insulation mattress and was still freezing cold. Dont trust the temp rating on there sleeping bags. It may cost you your life. Very disappointed. I later purchased a mountain design sleeping bag for the same price. Much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, lightweight and toasty warm. Bought this in NZ while on month long camping trip. Camped at Mueller Hut in tent, calm night with 10 knot winds. Extra pair of socks and I was toasty all night.
