Christchurch is the home of Kathmandu.
The recent attack on our community has shocked and saddened us.
Kathmandu has provided an initial $15,000 in immediate support in response to Friday’s Christchurch attack. $5,000 to support to team members affected and $10,000 to New Zealand Red Cross.
Kathmandu has been a partner of the New Zealand Red Cross since 2011, because of this partnership their Disaster Welfare and Support Team and psychosocial support team members have been equipped to assist the Christchurch City Council at Hagley College and Christchurch Hospital in providing psychological first aid to the families and friends of the victims.
Additionally, New Zealand Red Cross is the main agency for refugee resettlement and work closely with the former refugee community in Christchurch and across New Zealand. New Zealand Red Cross will continue to provide them with ongoing long term support through this tough time.
Kia kaha, Christchurch.
