A Gold ISPO Award recognises the design and construction of the Terrane Adapt Pack
The outdoor industry has spoken. The Terrane Adapt Pack is “ingenious and robust and sets a new benchmark”.
These are the words of the general secretary of the European Outdoor Group, Mark Held. He was one of the judges for the 2017 ISPO Awards, where the Terrane Adapt Pack received a Gold Award.
ISPO is the world’s largest trade fair for sporting goods and sportswear. The Munich show draws 80,000 people from 110 countries to see exhibits from 2600 companies in the outdoor industry.
Each year, ISPO recognises extraordinary sports products with the ISPO AWARD. The ISPO AWARD is essentially a seal of quality for the sporting goods industry.
A jury consisting of independent sports business professionals evaluated several hundred entries and the award was presented in Munich in February.
So how did all this fancy praise feel for Terrane designer Blake Richardson? “I’m a introverted Kiwi male so my celebrating is minimal, but it felt really good reading the judges’ comments. To be recognised and accepted by the international market place is something really special.”
Blake says the real hero of the Terrane is the customer - who he says was the inspiration and driving force behind the design. “We were motivated to deliver the best possible solution to serve them. Throughout the development we constantly scrutinised the design and reminded ourselves the importance of ease of use, speed of deployment, durability during transit and all other challenges customers face while travelling.”
