End-of-life recycling supporting Red Cross

Trade in your well-travelled clothing at one of our stores to give your gear a second chance at adventure and keep it out of the landfill.

We will donate your items to your local Red Cross shop, the proceeds of which will help the Red Cross — one of our community partners — continue their invaluable humanitarian work around the world.

This is our way of recycling gear and helping Red Cross at the same time.

How it works

  1. Gather your used clothing that is in good condition.
  2. Visit your nearest Kathmandu store to donate your goods.
  3. We’ll donate your gear to your local Red Cross shop.

Proceeds from Red Cross shops provide vital support for their local and international humanitarian work.

Please note: We're unable to accept stoves, gas canisters, knives or electronics of any kind. Please only donate items good enough for the Red Cross to sell. Avoid items with stains, tears, holes, or faulty zips!

How it helps

We pass these donations to local Red Cross shops to be onsold. The program helps keep gear out of landfill, provides quality used clothing and gear at second hand prices, and gives Red Cross a vital source of revenue to enable their local and international humanitarian work.

Last year we collected more than 1489kg of clothing in our stores across Australia and New Zealand — beating our goal of one tonne!

Help support the Red Cross and donate your with preloved clothing at your local Kathmandu store today.
