"I saw this jacket whilst visiting the Lake Dist. I wanted to replace my old jacket. This seemed to fit the bill. I orderd this via the Katmandu web site as it was cheaper. It arrived the following day. Which was excellent. Fits perfectly and so far so good. An extra bonus was the free packing bag. Would recommend"

Q&A
- How tough/durable is the fabric? Could this work as an outer shell for skiing in a pinch?
- We don't have a measurement for how tough the fabric is however this is wind and waterproof so would be suitable for skiing but it is not designed as a ski jacket.
- How does jacket compare to a puffer/down jacket? Is one better for hiking and other to keep warm?
- A Bealey jacket such as this is not about insulation but being waterproof, whereas our down jackets are about insulation and are not waterproof.
- I bought this jacket - the brick colour - and in heavy rain the water seems to soak in and not bead off the jacket. what's the problem?
- If water is soaking into the jacket then the DWR or durable water repellency layer needs to be refreshed. This can be done by washing the jacket and reproofing it with a wash in treatment or washing it and then applying a spray on treatment, we sell Grangers products which can do this.

- Hi there, sorry the previous breath-ability rating was incorrect. The correct rating is < 9 m²Pa/W Very Breathable. We don't have a conversion for that to g/m2/24 hours.
