Rated 5 out of 5 by Jo2021 from Keeps me dry inside and out! Bought this a few weeks ago. Is a great raincoat. Yet to try out in a solid downpour but has handled moderate showers well with minimal condensation inside. Works well with layers too

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bron13 from Warm and dry! I bought this for my daughter’s Duke of Ed tramp to Tongariro. It was brilliant. Kept her warm and dry plus it’s lightweight and folds up really well. The following week she umpired a netball game in the pouring rain. I didn’t realise how useful this jacket would be! An excellent buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RuralDrift from Perfect Purchased on a rainy day while on holiday with my husband. It was still very muggy and the jacket was very breathable. Also long enough to overlap my jeans which I struggle to find with a long torso.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sam C from Beautiful Jacket This is the 2nd rainjacket I have purchased from Kathmandu. The first one lasted over 5 years of trekking (Routeburn, Overland, Kumano Kodo) and cycling adventures and still going strong. Great quality. I have no doubt the Kathmandu Bealey Women’s GORE-TEX will also exceed expectation. I've had the jacket for a few weeks and love it. I know the Goretex won't disintegrate when it rubs against my 60L pack. It is also pretty warm. Most of all, I can wear it on my way to work/dinner and it still looks classy. I bought it in the colour dark blue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by kellysongs from Cosy and Lighweight I bought this jacket recently as a smart outdoor jacket that is appropriate for work purposes, when I regularly attend property inspections in remote areas. I have already worn it for various outdoor activities including cycling, walking and camping. It is very comfortable and really keeps the wind out; perfect for those days when it's just a little chilly or a light outer shell for colder weather. It folds into a small ball to go in a backpack when the sun comes out and has all the handy pockets you need. I like the fact that I can velcro the front panel closed if I don't want to go to the trouble of zipping. If I'm attending meetings, the neat silhouette it gives you in addition to it's practical features is a plus. I machine washed this jacket with no issues and followed the instructions not to use fabric softener, though I forwent the tumble dry in lieu of line drying. After camping and a wash, it still smells a little like bonfire smoke. I'm not entirely sure why it has retained the odour after washing, but it's the only fault I can find.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Granny grey from Wonderful fabric, style & colour This fully lined, gortex rain jacket is light & breathes. It cuts the wind as well as the rain. The hood is extended to protect your face. It will add to layers of warmth, but is comfortable to wear alone. It suits my purposes admirably - walking/ hiking in all weather, camping & travelling

Rated 5 out of 5 by LydiaJ from Exactly the jacket I wanted I have worn this jacket so much since purchasing it. It is a perfect lightweight jacket for travel, adventures and wearing to/from work when it is raining. It is a simple jacket but the lining in the pockets is a nice touch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lalitab12345 from Not waterproof for even a 15min walk I bought this a week ago and haven't washed it yet. Wore it for a 15min walk and water soaked through the fabric and there is dark patches all over. The only thing I like about it is the colour and fit otherwise it would have no stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Chltje from Perfect As a plus sized woman, it has been very hard finding adequate gear that fits me. I need a waterproof jacket that will enable me to get to work by bike in heavy rain without getting wet. The specs on this jacket are amazing so I trust it will do its job (haven't tried it in heavy rain yet) but my big doubt was the size. I took a leap of faith as the sizing on the website meant it would be a tight fit. However, the fit is perfect, I can easily wear a few think layers underneath it and it looks great. I am seriously happy with this purchase.

How does this jacket compare with the Isograd(without fleece liner) and the flinders jackets? Which will handle more extreme conditions (in snow, rain etc)? whats the difference? Which is more waterproof? which is more better for your money ?
The Bealey is the most waterproof of the 3 jackets with it's goreTEX membrane rated at 28,000mm while the Flinders is 20,000mm & the Isograd 15,000. The Bealey will handle extreme conditions the best & is a great multi purpose design. The Flinders is our lightest weight hiking jacket with great packability & the Isograd comes with the added zip in fleece. I would recommend the Bealey as the best value for money as the goreTEX construction will cover you against the most adverse weather!
