Hi, Is this jacket breathable? Can I use it as a "mid layer for a day's hike" ? Regards

You can use this as a mid-layer hiking, however it does have limited breathability being an insulated jacket (designed to trap warm air) & won't be as breathable as merino or many fleece mid-layers. It is very lightweight & compressible though, so when you heat up you can remove it as a layer and quickly stuff it into your pack - i hope this explanation helps!
