Rated 5 out of 5 by from SADLY Sadly, my teenage son only got to wear his new jacket for 2 hours before burning a large hole in the sleeve! Teenage Boys! We recd great help from the Albury Store and forwarded the injured jacket to Remote Repairs, who have also been really helpful, the repair cost was going to be $160.00 so we have decided to purchase another jacket (2nd time lucky) and use the injured jacket as a spare camping one. Boys will be boys and fingers crossed this second jacket lasts more than two hours. Thanks Kathmandu, we are a family of five and we all love our Kathmandu’s.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Six months experience The jacket is pretty, but not a winter jacket does not keep me warm as other jackets with the same down number do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Delicious It’s warm, it’s comfortable, it’s bright yellow. It’s delicious. The only thing I dislike, I can’t hide the hood. But a small flaw in an otherwise flawless winter jacket.

Would this jacket keep you warm in say -15°c weather if paired with a waterproof shell Or what is the temperature rating on the jacket

Asked by: Teklord198
Our jackets do not have temperature ratings as there are many factors that contribute to your overall warmth while wearing a jacket - personal metabolism, rain, wind, humidity, and exertion level however this is a great jacket for providing warmth with the down insulation. As -15 degrees Celsius is very cold, we would always recommend warm thermal base layers and layers always help to accommodate changing temperatures.

Does this jacket have any windproof protection? I don't have a dryer, just a regular washing machine, can I still use tennis balls when this jacket is on the Spin mode (which basically removes all the water)?

Asked by: KiwiNoy
As an insulation layer, this will provide some protection from wind, however the material is not windproof. We would not recommend using a spin cycle instead of a dryer.

Does the mustard yellow jacket get dirty easily? How easy is it to wipe dirt off with damp cloth?

Asked by: Zee22
This yellow colour will be one that could get dirty easily just because of the light colour. This does completely depend on your use of the jacket. The good this is that down jackets are pretty easy to wash! You could definitely use a damp cloth to get rid of excess dirt or you can wash the jacket in your washing machine using a down wash with no enzymes and then using dryer balls or clean tennis balls in the dryer to fluff up the jacket nicely. For more information on how to care for your down jacket, please refer to our Help Centre and then under 'Product Information' you will see 'Product Care'. Click on this one and you will find a lot of in depth information from our product experts!

Would you recommend adding a waterproofing spray coat to make it more resistant to water ? If yes, any waterproofing spray or one for a special material ?

Asked by: AlexAlex
This product already has a DWR coating applied, which is what most waterproofing sprays contain. Applying a spray would most likely not help much, as the seams are not sealed on this garment which is where most water will soak through.

Could you advise the best way to wash a Epiq Men's 600 Fill Hooded Down Jacket

Asked by: Mhutch
Yes sure thing! Follow the below steps for the best care: 1. Machine-wash your down jacket on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees °C. 2. Carefully remove your down jacket and lay flat to dry on a clothing rack. 3. Put it in the tumble drier on a low heat. 4. Throw in two to three tennis balls, or Granger’s drying balls. 5. Gently fluff up the down jacket. The most important part with washing a down jacket is the drying part.
