Gluon Beyond 18L Backpack v3 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy pack This bag is pretty magical - if it sits right on your shoulders you barely feel any weight at all! It's been impressive throughout my travels, although what comes to mind is when I did a 2 day trek. I easy carried 3L of water plus overnight clothing and didn't feel weighed down despite a completely full pack. I also like the gluon option to fasten it to your backpack, even though I have never used it (it's always in the front for me). While it is well designed, the quality of materials used is very bad. The inside lining ripped in 2 different places, and the straps loosen up after a few days so you constantly have to readjust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great accessory to the 70ltr Hybrid Travel Bag Have now purchased two of these bags and also two of the 70ltr hybrid travel bags over the last 2 years firstly for our daughter who was travelling overseas for 6 months and just recently for our son, fabulous product, have recommended it to many friends and family. Pretty keen to get one for myself at some stage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New model big improvement I bought the previous model of this Gluon 18L, as an impulse purchase at a sale in the Adelaide store - so glad I did. At the time, I (a 74-year-old pensioner) was setting off, as a lone female, on a 6-month Spanish-learning odyssey to several Latin American countries. I had two wheelie suitcases and this (previous model) Gluon 18L. In order to save the suitcases - frequently dragging them around cobblestoned 'footpaths' and roads, I loaded up the Gluon with about 17 kg of my Spanish books and 2 iPads. I expected the Gluon would fall apart from being expected to carry so much, but - although I wrecked the wheels (and handles) of both suitcases! - the Gluon is still in perfect shape, except for the inner fabric coating (peeling off a bit). The new model addresses the only fault I found: the old model had a long outside pocket, with only a top zipper (making it very difficult to access things in that deep pocket (such as my torch, or keys, or toothpaste and brush. The new model has a side opening to that outside pocket - way more convenient (although will need to be secured from pickpockets). Also, the airflow arrangement on the back is better on the new model. A really good feature of both models is the waist strap - gives great protection from having one's daypack snatched, as happened to me twice (in Indonesia) with small 'fashion' daypacks. In Latin America - where people constantly warned me about having my iPad snatched (when I was using Google Maps to navigate in cities), I always felt secure that the bad guys would not be able to grab all my other valuables (with my Gluon waist strap locked on to me) unless they kidnapped me and demanded that I surrender all! Didn't happen, fortunately. Now I'm buying the new model of the Gluon 18L, plus the Hybrid 50L rolling backpack that it can attach to, before I set off again - to continue studying Spanish in Latin America. From wrecking my two suitcases on my last 6-month trip, I know for sure that being able to get that Hybrid 50L on to my back (and the Gluon on to my front - where I can see it), I'll be way better equipped for moving my luggage around Latin American cities,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good size and quality This is my fifth purchase of Kathmandu backpacks and I am impressed by the quality again. The colour combination is nice and the size is perfect for petite build. I would have given an excellent rating if there is the security zipped pocket on top like one of my older backpacks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I use this bag every day when I cycle to work. It is the perfect size for all my gym gear, work gear and lunch etc. The pockets are great and it also attaches nicely to my 50L trolley bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little day-pack Not too big not too small, easily carries all your important items and fits easily underneath the seat in front of you on flights. Keeps all your items dry when in the rain. Recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great additional bag to the 50 litre bag Bought this bag a few weeks after purchasing the 50 litre bag, which this gluon ruck sack attaches too. What a Great design and idea, especially for those long weekends when there's a couple of you going.. Super bag, well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inside zip pouch! My last rucksack was bought from Kathmandu was about 7 years ago. This was the only option for me. Plus it's very hard to find rucksacks with inside zip pouches :). Very pleased with my purchase.
